The play follows Leo, a gay man new to Los Aneles after being kicked out of his home for his sexual identity. He throws himself in the deep end as he goes and explores the neighborhood of West Hollywood (WeHo), notorious for it’s gay bars and nightlife. Volatile Love follows Manuel, his friend Joey, and his girlfriend Angelica (Angie) as Manuel learns more and more about who he is, and who he wants to become. Volatile love is a combination of personal experiences, common experiences in the queer community, as well as a heavy amount of inspiration from the story of Matthew Shepard. Volatile Love has had one weekend of readings in April of 2022 during which the reading raised over $100 to donate to the Matthew Shepard Foundation. Love in Threes takes the audience on a journey through my love life directly after high school and into college. What I think makes this piece so interesting is that the relationships I was writing about were changing as I was writing, as well as reminiscing on the past. Love in Threes is a monologue about what you think love is as a young queer person, and the journey of self love and discovery I went on in order to emerge stronger after all of these relationships.
